About

Silverpoint Architecture was founded in 2017 by Bea Kellerman. We offer a personal and bespoke professional service for a broad spectrum of projects, namely new Residential Buildings, Renovations, Feasibility Studies and Commercial projects.

I believe that architecture should be an imaginative and contextual response, informed by the essence of a projects’ context and a detailed understanding of the client’s needs and aspirations. Care and attention to design should be applied throughout the design process. The qualities of place, such as light structure and materials, influence how we feel. Therefore, the core value of place-making in architecture should be to create meaningful and delightful spaces.

Even though I have a passion for minimalist contemporary architecture, through my experience, I have developed a thorough understanding of historical buildings and historically sensitive sites. This allows me to have a creative approach to a diverse range of styles.

I have a special appreciation for place-making at coastal sites. I completed my Masters in Architecure Cum Laude, with a dissertation, which focused on the creation of place that is rich in experience and carry meaning in the mind of its users, at the Small Fishing Harbour of Saldanha Bay, on the West Coast of South Africa. Since, I have worked on many coastal projects.

The practice is located in Somerset West; central to the Cape Winelands, Stellenbosch, Paarl, the Helderberg Basin, Overberg, Hermanus and the West Coast.
